Tell Northern Light Health: Mainers Deserve Better

Despite Anthem’s efforts to find a path forward in their ongoing negotiations that Mainers can afford, Northern Light Health executives continue to demand a nearly 30 percent rate increase. That’s a nearly $200 million spike in health care costs across Maine over the next three years – costs that would fall directly on hardworking employers, families, and taxpayers.

By sticking to their outrageous rate demands, Northern Light Health is threatening to drive up healthcare costs for patients, or, even worse, abandon the communities they serve.

While Anthem has put forward a fair offer, including rate increases above inflation, millions in quality incentives, and contract terms in line with those already in place with other health systems in Maine, Northern Light Health has continued to cause disruption and uncertainty in the market.

Time is running out. The future of health care affordability in Maine is at stake.
